Today, the House of Commons came together and unanimously declared November as #Diabetes Awareness Month across Canada and passed my motion – #M173 – with cross-party support!
👨👩👧👦 I introduced this motion to help the 11 million Canadians who have been diagnosed with diabetes or pre-diabetes.
👩⚕️ I introduced this motion to raise awareness for this terrible disease and bring people together so that we can find a cure.
🇨🇦 And, I introduced this motion because #Canada once lead the fight against diabetes when we gave insulin to the world, and it is time that we step up and lead once again.
I want to thank all my friends and colleagues who supported me and this motion throughout, everyone who has inspired me with their stories of resilience against this disease.
Most importantly, I want to thank all my constituents in #BramptonSouth who have given me the honour and the opportunity to represent them in #Ottawa and allow me to work every single day to make lives better for all Canadians.
Now, let’s find a cure!
